Alternatives to College

Many young adults are unclear about the alternatives to college available to them. We offer assistance in selecting vocational training, interim or thirteenth year programs, and independent living opportunities. We have devoted more than twenty years to visiting and investigating schools and special programs, both nationally and internationally. It is our primary goal to help our clients make informed decisions regarding their future. Often, we schedule an initial meeting with the client's parents to learn more about the specific situation, goals, and parameters. We also spend time gathering and reviewing any other information which may be helpful to us in understanding the client's abilities, interests, work, and life history. Following this initial meeting, we will meet with the client to devise a plan to select a few appropriate programs or living situations for further investigation. Sometimes we suggest doing interest inventories or further testing.
