Programs
for Students in Crisis
Residential
Treatment Centers
Residential treatment centers are for young people who have engaged
in unsafe behaviors. These students generally require a complete
evaluation, diagnosis and treatment. These centers are the most
clinically sophisticated in the spectrum of programs. The adolescents
treatment is individually planned and monitored and intensive individual
and family therapy is a standard protocol. More specialized and
targeted issues are addressed. The schools are usually locked to
keep the child safe. Admissions are rolling and the length of stay,
while flexible, is on average from four to nine months. In general,
the adolescents academic and emotional condition is not a
barrier to entry.
